To everyone who has been supporting me
Hello, it’s Araki.
I’m updating my blog for the first time in a while.
This is late, but thinking back to last year,
I challenged myself by doing a tour and making an album under the name of AXIZ.
Those of you who purchased my album, and attended my tour.
In exchange for everybody’s precious time and money, you accepted our feelings. Thank you very much!
There are still lots of announcements lined up after this, but this year, together with my fellow creatives, I would like to deliver lots of impressive music to everyone.
Well, today I have some serious things to talk about and things I would like to share with everyone.
○ Regarding my music and creativity
This is my personal view, but I think art and music are things that resound first with the culture and rich experience of the audience.
I am creating music, videos and live performances that the me of right now thinks are the coolest and most interesting.
I convey these thoughts to the craftspeople, to the staff, to the creators, and we do it together.
This isn’t just limited to my own works. If there are messages or works that are hard to understand, choosing not to watch or listen to them is a wise decision in itself.
However, if you should have even that little bit of interest, please try to keep them in the corner of your heart, in your everyday life, and ask yourself: “Why is it hard to understand? Why don’t I get any feelings from this?”
Perhaps years later, decades later, all of a sudden, should this become a work that resounds in your heart, you will understand that it is because you have gained experience. That is one of the joys of music and art.
If I should put it simply, let’s take myself and the manga, “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures”.
When I read it as an elementary schooler, I didn’t read it because I thought, “The illustrations are scary, I don’t understand what they’re saying, it doesn’t seem interesting.”
But when I grew up and reread it, there were many parts of it that resounded with me, and now it is my life Bible.
Another example would be my beloved FALL OUT BOY. They’ve changed their band sound from when they started out, and it feels like they’ve changed their genre, and I think of their old music too.
But as I chase after music trends and struggle with making and releasing music, I’ve come to understand how wonderful they are as creatives.
I’m not forcing you to listen to my works or messages. If you find them boring, it’s okay to leave.
If you should think of watching and listening once more, if you should find a flash of understanding once more, please come back any time.
Because I'll always be continuing my own music.
Like that, even for myself, I live richly with the condensed creativity and thoughts of many other artists and creators and craftspeople.
I would like everyone to live in that dimension. Over there, our connections are boundless.
○ I want you to have your own imagination about people around you
The other day, I received a harassing email.
It was from a throwaway address, to an old business enquiry email that I had made public in the past.
The contents of the email was prying into my private life.
And it directed me to acknowledge to truth of the details of my private life, “for the fans’ sake”.
“If it’s real, make it public. If it’s false, I’ll do my best to not misunderstand again.” was what it instructed. And it ended off with, “I’ll keep supporting you from now on.”
To me, this was not a warning nor advice. It was harassment.
If it’s the case of “For your fans”, “I’m supporting you”, please don’t bring myself or my fans into this any more.
To anonymously ask a complete stranger, a question with no tact
To have the nerve to believe you can control a complete stranger’s actions
To contact me for your own sake, telling me “From now, do this”
Who are you? Who are you to me?
I’ll hold the details, but the above happened.
If there’s anyone who’s misunderstanding this, I’ll put it out there first: I think there will come a time where the creative direction of my trusted friends and myself depart from each other.
It’s a good chance to say this now.
・I connect with everyone through music and creativity, and I want to share it with everyone and continue activities as long as I can
・I don’t show or market myself with my private life
Likewise, I don’t intend or expect to let my activities intervene in my private life or use it to my advantage in my love life.
And this applies for the future as well.
This is the policy by which I have chosen to carry out my activities, and does not mean that I am condemning those who do do so.
For me, a simple human, to be looked up to and liked, is something to be happy about. And I want to continue making music and creativity that resounds with you.
If you are here to indulge your own selfish desires or find out about my private life, please, look elsewhere.
This is what I mean by my subtitle of “Have your own imagination”
I’m sure there are people here who aren’t working adults, or those who are working in different fields from myself.
And therefore, the things in this job related to the types of creators, the staff, artists from other genres and specialised craftspeople,
The kind of distance between males and females, the kind of money we exchange,
How long we’ve been working on this project, it’s only natural that you wonder.
On the other hand, I want you to keep it in your heart that there are many, many things that you will always be wondering about.
Even for a single free-to-view video, there are lots of people who must be involved, and a lot of money that is exchanged.
It’s easy to see it as a casual hobby, but if I were to get it done it for free, it would probably not be a satisfying result.
The mail from earlier on, it seemed to have zero respect or understanding of my music and activities.
If you have no respect and understanding for musicians, performers and craftspeople, I want you to first try asking yourself why this is so.
Something you’ve been working hard on, knowledge you’ve studied very hard to attain, skills that you’ve honed more than anyone else, a thankless job that you work hard at everyday for the sake of someone
If you were suddenly told “What, that’s easily done”, “They’re related to that person, so they can do that”, “Boring” “Not for anyone” by a person who knows and understands nothing about the situation, how would you feel?
You who said things like that, what about it? I want you to try imagining, “Isn’t it all things I’m not seeing?”
This applies even to the people you dislike.
I think sympathy and imagination are common across the world.
Justice varies from person to person.
Delusion drags you to the ground.
Imagination bridges all our different forms of justice.
To fellow fans, your friends, family, co-workers, to those you talk to over the screen, and to myself and my staff
We would be happy if you could connect with us while having an imagination.
This is long, but this is my wish.
○Lastly
Like a popular rockstar, I’m not great with words, but I’m expressing myself by singing songs I think are cool.
And shortly, I’ll share fun times with everyone again!
There are still unannounced things in the works, and there maybe things that are a little startling, but if there’s something that appeals to you, please come with us.
Your thoughts on my music, videos and goods, your attempts at replicating my cooking videos, the words that you convey to me are my fuel.
This year, I’ll do many things as well, so please take care of me from now!
Earlier, at 8pm on 20 Mar, I uploaded another lyric video of a track from my album.
Let’s continue our creativity.
